TANZANIAN LEADERS UNDER 40: JANUARY MAKAMBA

For a while I have been on a mission trying to compile the list of Tanzania leaders[ I call them The Future] who are under 40 years old. And when I say “leaders” I don’t necessarily mean politicians, Ministers or Members of Parliament but rather any outstanding men and women out there who are doing some remarkable work to advance our communities in one way or another. Therefore, they could be CEOs, Managers, etc. However, if someone is a CEO, Manager etc, I have set rules that they must be of a nationally recognized company/organization. Otherwise we could have 7 million “Leaders”.

Immediately after I started shortlisting these young leaders, I knew that I can’t have a significant list if I am going to do it all myself. I need your input. Do you know anyone who is under 40 and deserves to be in the list? The idea is to have at least one leader  every week to be featured here.

I am starting with January Makamba (photo above). He is currently Member of Parliament for Bumbuli Constituency and a Deputy Minister Of Communication, Science and Technology. Before becoming an MP, he worked at State House as an Aide to President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. He was born on 28th January 1974. He is 39.
